In Short
Neeraj Chopra, Kishore Jena will be in action in the javelin qualification event
India will face Germany in the men's hockey semi-final
Vinesh Phogat will be aiming to reach the semis of Women's Freestyle 50 kg
It's Day 11 of the Paris Olympics 2024 on Tuesday, August 6 and it could turn out to be a big one for the Indian contingent. Day 10 was truly heartbreaking for India as Lakshya Sen and Maheshwari Chauhan-Anantjeet Singh missed out on medals by a whisker.
It was also painful to see Nisha Dahiya suffer a freak injury, which would cost her the women's 68kg quarterfinal match 8-10 against North Korea's Sol Gum Pak at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Monday. A bright spot was Avinash Sable's performance in the 3000m steeplechase event on Monday, 5 August. He would finish 5th and enter the final. Now the focus firmly shifts to some of the biggest names from the Indian contingent, who will be aiming to make a statement on Tuesday.
Neeraj Chopra
For some stars, their name is just enough to hype the fans up. That's the case with Neeraj Chopra on Tuesday, as the Indian javelin thrower will be looking to defend his crown at the Olympics. Neeraj has been slowly building up for the Olympics this year and will be raring to go in the qualifying round.
Kishore Jena
While Neeraj may be the big name, let's not underestimate Kishore Jena. The 28-year-old could be the dark horse in the Olympics and could push the top stars including Neeraj for the medals.
Vinesh Phogat
It's been a whirlwind few years for Vinesh Phogat because of what happened outside the wrestling mat. The Indian wrestler will now look to make a statement as she aims to make it all the way to the semi-final on Tuesday in the Women's Freestyle 50 kg category.
PR Sreejesh
The Indian men's hockey team have been on a roll this year at the Paris Olympics 2024 and one of the stars for them has been PR Sreejesh. The Indian goalkeeper has continued to amaze the fans with his ability at the age of 36. India will be up against World Champions Germany in the semi-finals on Tuesday and Sreejesh will once again be key for his side
